Hola.

Welcome to my blog. I'm Celisse, and I love cruise ships, Disney World, and a good old fashioned eye roll.

Perfect Hot Chocolate For When You Are About To Freeze To Death In Florida

Perfect Hot Chocolate For When You Are About To Freeze To Death In Florida

Breaking news, y'all!

It is cold as heck in Florida. I'm from Miami but I live in Orlando now, and I am certainly not used to temps in the upper 30s, with wind chills in the lower 30s! I may be a baby compared to those of you who live in the great white north (Georgia, for example), but I am from a tropical climate and I think I might actually die of frostbite or an avalanche or something. I had no idea that I moved from Miami to Winterfell!

What's that you say? I'm being dramatic? Rude.

In addition to it being super freezing cold, it rained for most of the day, which is unheard of for this time of year in Florida. Usually, our winters are warm and dry. So for this WINTER THUNDERBOOM CYBERBOMB GRAYSON (or whatever Weather.com is calling it) to bring cold AND rainy weather, with freeze warnings and everything, I'm really feeling out of my element!

I'd love for nothing more than to stay in my cozy home in my cozy bed with some cozy socks for the rest of the week, but alas, I have to be a grown up and ~*earn money*~ to ~*pay my bills*~, I guess.

In the mean time, this disgusting weather does make it the best time to enjoy the perfect cup of Hot Chocolate while firing up the Netflix fireplace, or writing on your blog. I love trying new hot chocolate recipes because they're always easy and quick to make, and I usually have all of the necessary ingredients already in my pantry. Plus, it's yummy.

This recipe from I Am Baker makes for a rich and decadent winter treat. It is VERY sweet so beware. I used 2% milk, Ghirardelli chocolate chips, and brown sugar in my adaptation. I also added a pinch of salt, which brings out the chocolate flavor. Then I poured it on top of three JUMBO marshmallows, which was overkill, but if I'm going to die in this frozen tundra anyway, I might as well go out with a bang.

What do you like to do to keep warm when a winter cyclone is lurking? Let me know in the comments below!
